Darcy Greenwald, L.Ac (licensed acupuncturist)
M.S.O.M. (Masters in Oriental Medicine)
Darcy spent the first half of her life in Asia, in South Korea, China and Hong Kong. While in China she studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong, from which she derived her first experiences of "Qi" and energetic healing. She moved to Boulder, Colorado in 1996, where she continues to be captivated by the beauty of Colorado and the Rockies. After obtaining her Master's degree at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Denver in 2006, she ran rural clinics for several years in northeastern Colorado and northwestern Nebraska. Darcy has trained with several nationally-recognized acupuncturists, most notably with Richard Tan "The Balance Method" and Susan Johnson "Tung's Points". She has over seven years' experience as a licensed TCM practitioner, including two years' clinical experience in a community acupuncture environment very similar to the way acupuncture is traditionally practiced in China. This model gave her the opportunity to treat much higher numbers of patients than a typical private practice. It also gave her the experience of treating a wide variety of health conditions in a relatively short period of time. Darcy loves working with people of all ages, from 0-99 years, and is a passionate educator in the field of Traditional Chinese Medicine and nutrition, particularly in GAPS (Gut and Psychology Syndrome). She specializes in the treatment of all types of pain disorders, as well as digestive, immune, and endocrine disorders. Darcy is also a skilled herbalist; she is certified in Traditional Chinese Herbal Sciences through the Rocky Mountain Herbal Institute (RMHI) in Montana, a two-year intensive herbal program from which she graduated in 2001. In her free time, Darcy spends as much time outdoors in nature as she can. She bikes, hikes, and is the fortunate mother of an active 8-year-old. She is currently brushing up on her rusty Mandarin, so if you are a fellow Mandarin linguist, feel free to start up a conversation!
