A patient came into the office this week with complaints of severe right forearm and wrist pain after suffering a “spaghetti wrist injury“. This injury involves laceration of some or all of the tendons, nerves, and arteries of the forearm/wrist. Very commonly, severe loss of sensation and weakness accompany this problem, even after surgery. This is a very serious injury and often requires intensive therapy over the course of several months. A physical therapist who has knowledge of this specific problem can help to increase strength and range of motion to improve the patient’s functional use of their hand and wrist.
